I first thought of this ring when I bumped into my friend Debbie at the Harvest Festival in 2004; she told me that she would like one of my rings at some stage. I wanted to make one that would mean something to her, so while the crowds were watching the music I was sitting on a wall thinking about a ring for Debbie.

When Debbie moved from Melbourne and got a cat she fell in love, and that's what I wanted to put on the ring, the idea that a cat stole her heart; I figured if there was a missing heart and cat paw prints then there could only be one conclusion drawn.

I made one and started wearing it myself, then I made them to sell and finally last week I got to give one to Debbie.
